CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - GAL's ANNUAL ART AUCTION FUNDRAISER - A XPACE CULTURAL CENTRE
Girls' Art League is looking to continue our programming that has been so successful the past two years. We are reaching out to a greater number of social service organizations, and offer free art education to women and girls who would otherwise not have access to such programming. For the past two years we have offered free programming to Sheena's Place, Working Women Community Centre, Central Toronto Youth Centre, Gilda's Club and others. We are expanding this prgram as well as offering weekly classes to women and girls. These programs and costly and we need your help to make them all possible!
GAL is hosting an art auction on Thursday December 8th at the Xpace Cultural Centre. We are seeking donations of artwork for this auction. It is important to us that artists are paid for their work, and so you have the choice to donate anywhere between 50% and 100% of the proceeds raised by your contribution. Worls must be submitted for display, paper works must be framed. We will need to know the dimensions of your work, a work description and a photo (jpeg) by our deadline of November 10th, 2016.
If you are interested in donating artwork to support GAL and future generations of female artists in Toronto, please contact us at email@example.com. We will be happy to write back or talk with you on the phone or in person. For more information on who we are and what we do, visit us at www.girlsartleague.com/about or www.girlsartleague.com/media.
Thank you so much. We hope that you believe in our initiative and demonstrate support. We look forward to working with you and/or cheersing you and the auction!

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Under $200 Show at Fountain Gallery
April 3, 2015
Girls’ Art League (GAL) is a Toronto-based art centre with the mission of empowering girls and women through the visual arts. Girls of all artistic abilities, socio-economic backgrounds, and lived experiences should have the opportunity to develop and exercise their artistic voice. We believe that this artistic voice and an empowered creative practice is cultivated when we connect, share, and learn from each other.
We provide the knowledge and resources for girls and women (GALs) to develop their artistic practice, express themselves visually, and build artistic confidence - all within a safe and supportive environment. Our team of artists and educators teach a variety of 2D, 3D, and time-based mediums, and present direct connections to successful female artists working today. GAL offers these teachings through regular 8-week courses, free community workshops, artist talks, self-directed learning programs, and mentorship programs. We are dedicated to building a vital community of girls and women interested in the arts in Toronto.
GAL is hosting an ‘Under $200’ show at the Fountain Gallery, 1261 Dundas St. W on Thursday, May 6th. We are seeking artwork donations for this event. We are seeking only works valued at $200 or less.
